Croissant – Coworking app to book office space on the go
We are excited to feature this interview with Nisha Garigarn, Co-Founder of Croissant
Tell us about how it works at Croissant to book a coworking space?
As a Croissant member, you’re able to see all available coworking spaces in real time. All you have to do is pick a coworking space nearby, check to make sure there’s a seat available, and then when you arrive, Check in with the app. You’ll get instant access to the coworking space and its amenities. There’s no need to book a seat in advance but you can if you want!
What’s your vision and how have you achieved the same?
Our vision is to make every day inspiring for digital workers around the world. We’re doing that by giving people seamless access to wonderful workspaces and so far, we’ve helped inspire thousands of people. That’s thousands of projects, ideas, and companies that we’ve touched! We’ve come a long way and we’re not stopping anytime soon!
How was it possible for you to expand to several cities? Is it the need for such services which motivated you?
When we first launched Croissant, the membership was available in New York City. After a year, we expanded to San Francisco, and then to Los Angeles.. and now, two years later, Croissant is available in 18 cities around the world! We try to visit as many coworking spaces in person as we can, but our team is based in New York and we mostly partner with spaces remotely. We’ve had a lot of people reach out to us worldwide asking for us to bring Croissant to their city, and we’re doing just that.
How did you come up with such affordable pricing?
From the beginning, we set out to offer a product that is in-between the price of working at a coffee shop and a full-time monthly membership at a coworking space. There was a huge gap between those two choices! We came up with the idea for Croissant because we were having trouble finding a place to get work done around New York City. We wanted an affordable and simple way to access good workspaces without paying hundred of dollars per month.
There are several entrepreneurs working from their garage! How important is a real office environment to get ahead with the startup?
I think the best way to choose an office environment is to think about what it is that you wish to achieve. If you want to hustle hard and be scrappy with your small team, a garage office serves that purpose incredibly well. If you want a quiet place to focus, then maybe redesigning a spare room of your home into your office is a good idea. Croissant is perfect for people who want to easily plug into a variety of inspiring workspaces on the go — places where you can get work done and meet like minded folks.
What are your plans for Croissant’s future?
There’s a lot of great stuff in the works! We are most excited about building new community features that will make it even easier for members to meet like-minded people. There is so much room for smarter networking using our app and we are exploring that a bit more in the coming months. And we will continue to add more and more wonderful workspaces to our network so that remote workers in more cities worldwide can use Croissant!
Good luck Nisha!
